What’s your typical Commuting Experience?
We all commute door to door, while some extend the ride home by jumping on to the TransPeninne trail. The joy of Manchester being a relatively compact city means you can be riding some wooded single track on the River Mersey in 20 minutes, which feels a world away from the city centre.
Manchester is reasonably ok for cyclists. Certainly not the best, but by no means the worst environment to ride in either. Unfortunately, most UK cities are a world away from the cycle-friendly attitude of many of our European counterparts. Hopefully as British cycling continues to thrive and grow in the public eye, things may start to improve. Don't hold your breath though (unless you're stuck behind a double decker).
Of course, away from the roads we're so lucky to have so many world class facilities available - the velodrome, 2 BMX tracks, and fantastic off road riding in literally every direction.
