What’s your typical Commuting Experience?
The hardest part of being a cycling commuter is toughing it out in the colder months, but we still do it. We Minnesotans are proud of our city’s notoriety as having a vibrant bike culture. In fact, Minneapolis has been named the #1 bike city in the nation several times over (the Minneapolis mayor, R.T. Rybak, is a big supporter of keeping the Twin Cities bike friendly). We also aren’t just fair-weather riders. Many of us keep cycling year round. We do have excellent terrain for summertime riding, though. Many of us take extended routes to work and home, and will take our wheels out for a few miles during lunch. We are located next to several lakes with bike paths, which make for gorgeous views while promoting additional exercise and balance to the day.
