Who, what, where?
We are Isthmus - Urban Designers and Landscape Architects, based in New Zealand. Our projects include master planning, design planning, street scape design, parks, playgrounds, BMX/skate-parks, bridges, and walkways/cycle-ways. We have centrally located offices in New Zealand's main centres; Auckland Wellington and Tauranga. At Isthmus we like bikes, and riding them. Lots of people at isthmus ride to work, and many of us ride at weekends on the road, for polo, up the hills or extreme downhill. Last year all our studios took part in the Bikewise Challenge - our Tauranga studio had 100% participation, and the Auckland office won its category.
We are interested in the design of bikes; we own machines as varied as the innovative Dutch Vanmoof, hand-built NZ retro road machines, 1950s British classics, Raleigh 20s, 1980s French racers, bespoke single speeds, hybrid commuting grunters, full suspension downhillers and the odd tandem.
