Company led or employee led culture?
There has always been a cycling culture at Aardman, lead from the top by one of the founders who still rides in most days, a handful of the senior creative team also ride and so on through the company to those who are just starting out. Aardman actively supports the cycle scheme to help staff buy bikes for getting to work. There are also four showers to use if you are the type who can’t help but ride FAST.
Cycling is defiantly nurtured by the company but equally it is encouraged by the guys and gals in the saddle. Creatively we have often had model bikes in our films, and it is always amazing to see a miniature version of an everyday object. Recently one of our senior online designer made a film about the fixed gear scene in Bristol. The film is called BOIKZMOIND, check it out.
